CCC+ – The COLOR COMPETENCE CENTER
combines the best of all areas
Pre-colored plastics (ROMIRA GmbH), masterbatches in granule form (ROWA Masterbatch GmbH), liquid colors (ROWASOL GmbH), or very finely dispersed pigment preparations (ROWA Lack GmbH). This way, you can be sure you’re getting exactly the right product for your production and application – one that delivers the best color and consistency.
Of course, colors can be replicated exactly time and time again—from automotive colors to transparent and matte finishes. A wide variety of color systems are available, including the RAL, NCS, and Pantone systems. All products can be flexibly customized – thanks in part to state-of-the-art data communication, customers can receive a customized color formulation with electronic targets even without a visual sample, allowing them to begin production with the desired color much more quickly and ensuring that a customized color concentrate or compound is available.
The following example of the process at ROMIRA GmbH illustrates the technical standards and high-quality requirements we apply to the color adjustment of your material:

CUSTOMER REQUEST
A member of our internal sales department receives the order for the new color formulation. A lab order is then created in coordination with the field sales representative and the customer.

FEASIBILITY TEST
The customer sample is inspected visually, and the feasibility of the desired requirements is looked into.

PLANNING COLOR ADJUSTMENT
When the necessary materials for completing the order are ordered, the completion date is set at the same time.

IMPLEMENTING THE COLOR ADJUSTMENT
Our colorist, who is responsible for color development, evaluates the color based on sample tiles made from the extruded material.

ASSESSING COLOR SAMPLE PLATES
The color is evaluated both instrumentally using state-of-the-art technology – including a Konica Minolta spectrophotometer – and visually. If our customers wish, we’re happy to evaluate the results together at our Color Competence Center. This allows us to engage in direct communication for fine-tuning and make immediate adjustments.

TESTING
In the next step, the material’s mechanical and optical properties are tested in accordance with current standards using state-of-the-art testing equipment, based on product and/or customer requirements. (These include, among others, the melt flow index, tensile and flexural strengths, impact strength, heat deformability, and weathering tests.)

PRODUCTION SAMPLE
Once the formulation development is complete, the desired quantity is produced for customer sampling.

SAMPLE
The sample is tested by the customer for suitability in their process and is approved.
