The highly filled polyamides of the ROTEC® PA M series, which are manufactured using special mineral fillers and a unique production process, deliver excellent mechanical properties—such as stiffness and impact resistance—even at higher temperatures, as well as dimensional stability and a wide processing window. In addition, ROMIRA products are characterized by outstanding surface quality and tactile feel.
With the ROTEC® PA M series, designers face virtually no limits, and users do not have to compromise on surface quality, whether the parts are technical or aesthetic. For example, aesthetic parts can be produced with a ceramic look and feel, as well as with a metallic look and feel. Matte surfaces and a cool-touch finish can also be achieved very effectively. And thanks to the fillers, the cool-touch feel—both with and without a coating—makes the end product appear to be of higher quality. Another advantage: Numerous pure color shades can be developed using mineral-filled PA compounds.
The ROTEC® PA M series is suitable for a variety of applications—including items such as door handles (interior and exterior) and knobs in automobiles, household appliances, and plumbing fixtures, as well as power tool housings and cosmetic products: For example, ROTEC® PA6 3501 M60 is currently being tested for cosmetic packaging with a ceramic effect—in this context, not only the feel but also the sound of the material is relevant to a positive perception of quality.
A look into the future reveals just how much potential the ROTEC® PA M series holds: ROTEC® PA6 3501 M60, with chrome plating and metallization, could replace ABS in the cosmetics industry. The shrinkage rates of ROMIRA material and ABS are similar. Existing ABS molds could be used to manufacture parts using ROMIRA material.
