ROMIRA'S ESTABLISHED LURANYL® TYPES

Pinneberg, May 2024
The LURANYL® compounds are an important product group in ROMIRA’s portfolio that has been highly valued for many years. Their applications in injection molding and extrusion are primarily based on their enhanced heat resistance. In addition to the established standard grades, there is always room for custom-tailored solutions upon request.

The main products are PPE/PS blends sold under the brand name LURANYL® KR and PPE/PA blends sold under the brand name LURANYL® HT:

The inherent hydrolytic stability of PPE/PS blends, combined with high heat resistance, enables LURANYL® KR grades to be used in water-carrying components such as pumps or piping—even under thermal stress. In particular, this product class therefore includes grades certified according to KTW, ACS, and WRAS for drinking water applications.

Flame-retardant LURANYL® KR blends offer good flow properties, high heat resistance, and outstanding flame-retardant properties that remain effective even at thin wall thicknesses. Not least because of their good processability, this product class is therefore very attractive to the electrical industry for the production of thin-walled parts and is used, for example, in terminal blocks, fuses, and relays.

LURANYL® HT blends are characterized by very high heat resistance, high resistance to various media, and high impact strength. It is precisely this combination of properties that makes them suitable for specialized applications in demanding environments, such as powder coating.
