ROWA Masterbatch Reveals the Color Trends of the Future

Pinneberg, September 2023
When it comes to color trends, our thoughts inevitably turn to the runway—which makes sense, since colors and color effects play a very significant role, especially in the fast-paced fashion industry. But color trends also have a significant influence and play a crucial role in purchasing decisions across many other industries and areas of life—whether in cosmetics packaging, automotive and E&E applications, or numerous everyday lifestyle products. It’s a good thing that color expert ROWA Masterbatch already knows which colors and effects will be all the rage in the Spring/Summer 2025 season!

Based on WGSN’s analysis of trend colors, ROWA Masterbatch has once again this year, in collaboration with the effect pigment manufacturer KUNCAI, created interesting, vibrant, and unique shades of the trend colors from various corners of the color palette. In addition to the pure tones of each shade, one color formulation was developed to showcase dramatic color effects, and another that achieves only a subtle variation from the base tone.

Drawing on KUNCAI’s broad product range and its own core expertise in synthetic mica effect pigments, ROWA Masterbatch presents color-intensive, pure, and—depending on the viewing angle—shifting color styles with high-quality and unique effects. Thanks to these effects, end products can stand out impressively in the world of trend colors, and product features can make a strong impression at the point of sale through trend-aligned color schemes with “multiple effects.”

Trending Colors for Spring/Summer 2025

The effect pigments used include a dark violet, which symbolizes luxury and grandeur, as well as an interference pearlescent pigment that produces interesting color shifts depending on the viewing angle, thereby adding a sense of excitement even to simple objects.

Transcendent Pink

Transcendent Pink is a barely perceptible shade that viewers tend to perceive as a sophisticated neutral tone—one that is grounding and balancing. This shade is already making its presence felt in virtual worlds—and by spring 2025 at the latest, it will be increasingly visible in the real world as well. Not least because the shade is rooted in a soothing sense of stability—something experience shows consumers are seeking in challenging, crisis-ridden times like these. And since it is a versatile color, Transcendent Pink is suitable for numerous applications and products across all genders, demographics, and seasons. Using interference-red pigments, colorists have created a shimmering pink that is sure to be well-received—and not just in the cosmetics industry.

Aquatic Awe

Aquatic Awe embodies an exciting duality: On the one hand, this transformative turquoise celebrates the fascinating aspects of nature—evoking, for example, bioluminescent marine life—while on the other hand, the shade also represents synthetic and digital themes. Whether as a home accessory, in cosmetic packaging, or in automotive interiors—the opportunities to encounter Aquatic Awe in the future are diverse and abundant. The use of various blue and green effect pigments creates an extraordinary turquoise color impression that captivates the viewer.

Sunset Coral

This shade is an invigorating, feel-good color—an intense sunset hue that encourages a focus on the positive and symbolizes the growing importance of escapism —themes that product designers will certainly embrace, infusing their creations with a sense of well-being through Sunset Coral. Pearlescent pigments with color shift create polychromatic effects, revealing different colors—allowing breathtaking shades to be combined within a single product.

Ray Flower

Ray Flower is a radiant yet warm yellow. This color has an inherently optimistic and soothing aura that goes hand in hand with a focus on measures for a more sustainable way of life. The shade is also associated with the lunar eclipses that will take place in 2025. Ray Flower’s prospects for success are certainly anything but gloomy—who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by such a positive color palette? And the use of various shades of yellow and gold takes it to the next level: the effect pigments used give the color an intense sheen, lending the finished object a particularly luxurious appearance.
