Engineering Plastics & Blends

The ROMIRA was founded in 1990 and offers expertise in engineering plastics with guaranteed quality standards and innovative versatility. The ROMIRA modular system allows you to modify proven products or create new ones. Base polymers and blends are supplemented with additives such as UV stabilizers, flame retardants, or antioxidants and customized to the perfect shade for you at the Color Competence Center.

Color Competence Center

The ROWA GROUP’s Color Competence Center combines the best of all areas: pre-colored plastics (ROMIRA GmbH), masterbatches in granule form (ROWA Masterbatch GmbH), liquid dyes (ROWASOL GmbH), or ultra-finely dispersed pigment preparations (ROWA Lack GmbH). This gives you the assurance that you’ll receive exactly the right product—one that’s perfectly suited to your production and application and delivers the best color and consistency. Of course, these colors can always be replicated exactly—from automotive colors to transparent and matte finishes. A wide variety of color systems are available, including the RAL, NCS, and Pantone systems. Using state-of-the-art data communication, customers can then receive a customized color formulation with electronic targets even without a visual sample, allowing them to begin work on the desired color formulation much more quickly and ensuring that a customized color concentrate or compound is available.

Liquid dyes and additive concentrates for polymer coloring

The liquid paints and additive concentrates from ROWASOL are an alternative to conventional masterbatches. They consist of pigments or dyes that are discontinuously dispersed at room temperature in a solvent-free, liquid carrier system. Special wetting agents and rheological additives ensure optimal pigment distribution and dispersion stability. Depending on the application, the use of liquid pigments can offer advantages in terms of pigment usage, color homogeneity, color change times, and inventory management. In addition to custom color formulations, we also offer optimally pre-dispersed monopigment concentrates that allow users to create their own color formulations for maximum flexibility.

Perfect and clean metering systems for liquid colors in extrusion and injection molding

For the modern ROWAMETRIC dosing systems from ROWASOL Eccentric screw pumps or peristaltic pumps are used, and they are selected to suit the specific application. In addition, the company has partnerships with OPM Mechatronic and Oerlikon Barmag for piston and gear pumps.

Blowing Agents and Additives

The TRAMACO GmbH was founded in 1973 and produces, among other things, chemical blowing agents and nucleating agents (UNICELL®) as well as blowing agent blends, pastes, and masterbatches (TRACEL® products). These are used in a wide variety of applications. By selecting the right blowing agent systems, it is possible to achieve—depending on the application—weight reduction, raw material and cost savings, dimensional stability, thermal insulation, sound insulation, or surface effects.

Primer and Adhesion Promoter Systems

Another product line from the TRAMACO GmbH consists of adhesion promoters and primers for polyolefin plastics. Under the brand names TRAPYLEN® , and TRAPUR® These are used in the painting, printing, or bonding of plastic substrates that are difficult to coat (primarily polyolefins such as TPO, PE, PP, PP blends, etc.). A major area of application is the painting of bumpers, dashboards, and interior trim for the automotive industry. In addition, TRAPYLEN® , and TRAPUR® used in the manufacture of adhesive tapes and embossing films, as well as an adhesion additive in printing inks and adhesives.

The ROWA Lack GmbH As the market leader in the field of surface finishing for coated textiles, ROWA Lack manufactures high-quality coating systems, matting agent concentrates, and additive systems for the coatings and plastics industries. With an annual capacity of over 10,000 metric tons, ROWA Lack supplies customers in the plastics processing industry worldwide from its locations in Pinneberg, Seevetal, Yesan (South Korea), and Ningbo (China).
